No Better

You’re just a few days away from the release of “It Felt Like Glass,” what are your thoughts as the day draws near?

I'm excited! Definitely nervous, too, always, but that's part of the excitement and it's going to be a real cool feeling to know that other people are interacting with the songs, finally.

The sound and lyrics are in stark contrast, with an emo sound and upbeat lyrics, how did you guys come to this sound?

I think that's mostly true! Definitely true for the first half of the record. It was intentional, for sure. I feel like I've always used music as an outlet for griping / complaining, and while that's totally okay, I wanted to assert a sense of positivity and gratitude on the LP.

What, to you, is the most important thing you hope fans take away from listening to this record?

I think about this a lot, and while I definitely hope that the songs and the words can impact or comfort someone, I think it's really enough that the record exists. It's going to be played in cars, on turntables, in headphones, in bedrooms. That's wild to me, and that's enough. It's going to have a life that I don't know about, and that's really really cool.

Signing to No Sleep Records must’ve been an exciting milestone for you guys, how was that experience? How did you guys celebrate?

It was! We were on tour when things got finalized and I remember getting the email while driving by a lake in Oregon, hitting the steering wheel and yelling "Wooooo!" like an actual child. I love the label and I'm glad the record has such a good home.

With your debut album on the horizon, can fans expect a tour from you in the near future?

They can! We'll be doing a full US tour this August and we'll be doing some more West Coast stuff in the fall, hopefully.

What’s one thing you want people hearing your music for the first time to know about No Better?

It's kind of a cliched thing to say, but I'd want them to know how grateful we are that they're listening. Our record is over half an hour long, and it's a lot to ask that someone would give it that time. The fact that anyone does means a lot.

In only ONE word, describe your sound, your vibe, No Better as a whole.

Wholesome! Loving! Fun! Earnest! Sentimental! Wait, that was like five words.
