Concert Review: Machineheart, Dreamers, and You Me At Six at Gramercy Theatre

February 27, 2019

machineheart stepped out on the stage February 22nd at Gramercy Theatre in NYC to deliver a powerful, sultry performance. The band's singer, Stevie Scott, demonstrates her incredible vocal control whilst gracefully floating across the stage. Playing tracks from their latest album, People Changemachineheart got fans swaying to their soft, synth-pop sound, imparting the stage to Dreamers with "Altar."

Dreamers followed, stepping out non-chalantly to their places before starting with their latest tracks like "SCREWS", easing from the mellow mood of machineheart's performance into a foot-tapping show. The band gave fans a treat when they then performed, "Die Happy," their newest single which had just been released earlier that day. Then, Dreamers did as they do and kicked it up a notch, creating the perfect transition between machineheart and You Me At Six's differing sounds. Like a massive jolt of energy, the venue came to life when Dreamers started with some of their older tracks, starting with "Wolves (You Got Me)."  Commanding the crowd, Dreamers' energy was infectious, particularly when vocalist, Nick, got down on the floor with fans. Closing out with "Sweet Disaster," lyrics echoed back from the audience and the tone for the night was set.

Finally, You Me At Six, riding on the energy from the crowd, bursts from side stage with infectious exuberance. Alternating between albums with their 14 song set, frontman Josh Franceschi, hardly stopped moving, making sure fans never got a rest. Playing off each other's presence, Josh, Max, Matt, and Dan's familiarity with one another shone through in their performance. Following an amazing performance, they closed out the night with an encore - finally ending with a fan-fave: "Underdog."
